Here on the Oregon coast, we don't have as much "color" as inland a few miles, particularly since we mainly have pines, firs, etc..
However, just about 15 miles inland, there is what many of you have heard me refer to as "The Corridor," a 10 mile stretch of dedicated forest that the Hwy winds through... in addition to the pines there are many oaks, maples, aspen, various bushes and undergrowth... every year it is simply beautiful (not as vibrant as the eastern states however, but so beautiful). This year we had a cold snap just right to turn the leaves and I was fortunate to drive inland at just the right time to catch it at its peak. It's awesome and one can't help oohing and aahhing as one drives...
I hope one day to travel to the eastern states to take in the fall colors.
