What was/is your favorite Conference talk or moment?
Mine so far was Elder Eyring's talk.
I noticed an more solemn atmosphere today while watching. Maybe that was just me.

Elder Holland's talk. Fantastic.

Elder Ken W. Pearson's talk was right in line with some realizations I've been coming to recently.
Very timely for me personally.

I thought it was funny when Elder Uchtdorf introduced the next two speakers, when actually it was supposed to be the Church Audit report, and the Auditor said "I am neither" when he got to the pulpit.

Here are some notes for those who missed it:
Eyring
With all differences in our lives, we all have one common challenge. We all must deal with adversity. Anger – what is happening is unfair. Good health etc. seem to be deserved. Vanish – feeling of injustice can come. How could this happen? Hard when those afflicted seem to be blameless. Doubt infect a whole generation of people… some turn away from God whom they charge with being indifferent / cruel… If unchecked feelings lead to lack of faith that there is a God at all.
My purpose is to assure you that Heavenly Father and the savior live and love all humanity.
God gave us the gift of living in mortality so that we can be prepared to receive the greatest of all gifts from God which is eternal life. Spirits changed. We will want what God wants, think as God thinks, and thus be prepared for the trust of the endless prosperity to teach and lead, to test to be raised up, to qualify to live forever in eternal life.
We must be transformed through making righteous choices where that is hard to do. Education can come only though trials while serving God and others for Him.
Joy of forgiveness, only through infinite atonement of the savior. He knows from experience how to heal and help us.
BoM assurance of his power to comfort. Faith in that power gives us patience to wait and pray. Jesus could have learned from revelation, but chose to learn through his own experience.
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.(Book of Mormon | Alma 7:11 - 13)
test your courage and strength to endure.
1 O GOD, where art thou? And where is the pavilion that covereth thy hiding place?
2 How long shall thy hand be stayed, and thine eye, yea thy pure eye, behold from the eternal heavens the wrongs of thy people and of thy servants, and thine ear be penetrated with their cries?
3 Yea, O Lord, how long shall they suffer these wrongs and unlawful oppressions, before thine heart shall be softened toward them, and thy bowels be moved with compassion toward them?
4 O Lord God Almighty, maker of heaven, earth, and seas, and of all things that in them are, and who controllest and subjectest the devil, and the dark and benighted dominion of Sheol—stretch forth thy hand; let thine eye pierce; let thy pavilion be taken up; let thy dhiding place no longer be covered; let thine ear be inclined; let thine heart be softened, and thy bowels moved with compassion toward us.
5 Let thine anger be kindled against our enemies; and, in the fury of thine heart, with thy sword avenge us of our wrongs.
6 Remember thy suffering saints, O our God; and thy servants will rejoice in thy name forever.
7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a csmall moment;
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
9 Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.
10 Thou art not yet as Job; thy friends do not contend against thee, neither charge thee with transgression, as they did Job.(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 121:1 - 10)
We are being prepared for eternal life. The disciple who accepts a trial as an invitation to grow and therefore qualify for eternal life can find peace in the midst of a struggle.
5 And they came unto Alma; and the one who was the foremost among them said unto him: Behold, what shall these my brethren do, for they are despised of all men because of their poverty, yea, and more especially by our priests; for they have cast us out of our synagogues which we have labored abundantly to build with our own hands; and they have cast us out because of our exceeding poverty; and we have no place to worship our God; and behold, what shall we do?
6 And now when Alma heard this, he turned him about, his face immediately towards him, and he beheld with great joy; for he beheld that their afflictions had truly humbled them, and that they were in a preparation to hear the word.
7 Therefore he did say no more to the other multitude; but he stretched forth his hand, and cried unto those whom he beheld, who were truly penitent, and said unto them:
8 I behold that ye are lowly in heart; and if so, blessed are ye.
13 And now, because ye are compelled to be humble blessed are ye; for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh repentance; and now surely, whosoever repenteth shall find mercy; and he that findeth mercy and endureth to the end the same shall be saved.
14 And now, as I said unto you, that because ye were compelled to be humble ye were blessed, do ye not suppose that they are more blessed who truly humble themselves because of the word?
15 Yea, he that truly humbleth himself, and repenteth of his sins, and endureth to the end, the same shall be blessed—yea, much more blessed than they who are compelled to be humble because of their exceeding poverty.(Book of Mormon | Alma 32:5 - 15)
Relief sent to person in need to best strengthen them.
Great trials of life losing husband or wife to death. Jesus asked beloved disciple to care for his mother. Widows need attention.
Asked people who were already in need:
28 And now behold, my beloved brethren, I say unto you, do not suppose that this is all; for after ye have done all these things, if ye turn away the needy, and the naked, and visit not the sick and afflicted, and impart of your substance, if ye have, to those who stand in need—I say unto you, if ye do not any of these things, behold, your prayer is vain, and availeth you nothing, and ye are as hypocrites who do deny the faith.(Book of Mormon | Alma 34:28)
yet another trial – age and illness. Neighbor, dragging his trash to the curb when he could hardly walk..
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.(New Testament | 2 Timothy 4:7 - 8)
