Did I not call it? I absolutely love Elder Holland and this talk is seriously one of the all time best I've ever had the privilege of listening to. Wow, how powerful!

Yesterday Bro. Rafael E. Pino gave a talk that made me cry. Not simply teary, but actual lip-quivering crying. It was awesome!

All of the talks have been excellent. I've stayed awake for most of them, even though I work this weekend. I don't want to miss anything. My favorite quote so far, and for the life of me I cannot remember who said it, was "We should never complain if we are living worthily of anything that happens in our lives.'

My favorite part so far...

Elder Anderson quoting Elder Packer - paraphrasing "I am a nobody, then he turned and looked at me, and said, And Brother Anderson you are a nobody. And don't you ever forget it. And if you do, you will be reminded in an instant. And it won't be pleasant."

This gives me comfort.

Brother Holland on the Atonement. I could listen to talks on the atonement all day long.

I loved all the talks. I'm having a hard time deciding today (Sunday) which talk was the best. I can't choose.

I loved the emphasis on the Temple this afternoon. I can't think of a better place to be when the world is falling apart around us.

Thank you everyone for responding. I've enjoyed reading your thoughts.

Here are some quick notes that I took: (Ok, there are a lot of notes, sorry, you don’t have to read them of course.)

“do not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy.” – Hales

Respect one another and reverence God. Reverence invites revelation. Self-mastery leads to self-respect. - Liifereth

ponder, study, learn, broaden, deepen - Allan Packer

We need strong Christians to defend the truth - Christofferson

the pattern is repeating itself again… learn from the past - Ballard

Cook - refrain from criticism
Regarding hell….That nothing walks with aimless feet; That not one life shall be destroy’d, Or cast as rubbish to the void, When God hath made the pile complete;

6 destructive D’s: doubt, discouragement, distraction, lack of diligence, disappointment,
disbelief…. choose faith not fear

Let your heart not be troubled or afraid. Not important how you die, but how you live. - Rafael Pino

Elder Scott (not mincing words) Go to the temple.

Nelsen –pattern of prayer (Lord’s prayer)

Eyring – We are transformed by trials. Accept trials as an invitation to grow.

Uchtdorf - Today is Palm Sunday… become disciples, walk in his way. Gospel knowledge understood and applied unlocks a life of happiness/peace/fulfillment gives meaning/purpose/lasting change.

Elder Neil A. Anderson (new apostle) – Packer told him “I know who I am… I am a nobody… Anderson, you are a nobody too… if you ever forget it, the Lord will remind you of it instantly...” … Remember who we are and what we have in our hands, our responsibility is not trivial. (light to the world, prepare the way for 2nd coming)

Steven E. Snow – We need to get on with our life… Change is an essential part of life’s experiences… prepare for change by 1. following the prophet, 2. keeping eternal perspective, 3. have faith. 4. Be of good cheer.

Sister ? - Huge tree fell in neighbors yard. Bishop/home teacher / YM came within minutes to clean up the tree, VT brought in dinner. She felt loved and cared for. Vital to serve one another.

??? - To those who feel alone… consider the Savior’s solitary task, he “trod the winepress alone”.. because Jesus walked alone, we do not have to. Scenes of Christ’s lonely sacrifice, abandonment, must never be reenacted by us.

Monson - Circumstances are not as we would wish, easy to become cynical, focus instead on our blessings as members of the church. Not spirit of fear, but of power, love, sound mind.

Oaks- Deny selfish interests, serve others. Let him deny himself and come and follow me. Whosoever will lose his life for my sake will find it…. C.S.Lewis “The moment you have a self at all, there is a possibility of putting yourself first--wanting to he the centre-wanting to be God, in fact. That was the sin of Satan--and that was the sin he taught the human race. Some people think the fall of man had something to do with sex, but that is a mistake. … What Satan put into the heads of our remote ancestors own as if they had created themselves--be their own masters-invent some sort of happiness for themselves outside God, apart from God. And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history--money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery--the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.”
Bednar – Go to the temple. “willing” to take upon the name of the Savior vs. actually taking upon us the name of the Savior. Protection given to those who regularly go to the temple.
Gary Stevenson – Do you think we are lost? …Grandpa, you are never lost when you can see the temple… “Only the home can compare with the temple in sacredness.” (Bible Dictionary | T Temple:Entry)

Teixeira - Ability to choose. GPS “where am I? where am I going? What is the best route to get there?” Gift of Holy Ghost to guide and direct us.

M Watson - Herding sheep, fog rested heavily, could not see, he let go of the reins, let the more experienced horse get him back to camp. Let others who know the way have the reins and be our guide.

Perry- ewe (sheep) stranded on cliff. How would the ewe react to the search and rescue people? ewe scared by strangers, needed it’s shepherd, the person it knew. Missionary work, you and I are shepherds for friends/neighbors/family who know us and need our help. Declare 1. belief in Jesus, 2. first vision, 3. Book of Mormon.

Monson - Caution to all: we live at a time where adversary is using every means possible to snare us in his web of deceit. Choose ye this day whom you will serve. Go to the temple often, find peace, renewed dedication to the gospel, strengthened resolve .. Extend humanitarian aid to those who are in need. Have homes filled with harmony and love, nourish your testimonies that they would be a protection to you. Desire with all my heart to do God’s will, serve Him, and serve you. Conference is over, return home safely, I love you, I pray for you, ask that you remember me. blessings be upon all of us.

God be with you till we meet again.

My fav - Oaks, lose yourself to find yourslf.

I was impressed by Pres. Monsons cousel to use the internet for good, but watch very carefully because Satan will entice one to use it for sin. Counseled on pornography to stop immediatly. This subject seems to be growing rapidly in the World and is now affecting many in the church.

Yep, Elder Ken W. Pearson and President Uchtdorf's talk in the Priesthood Session were both big highlights for me. :-) It's been so great to review.
