If this is the e-mail I believe my friend (
Interpretation of Revelations 13:16-18) started flipping out about--and something's telling me it is--then somebody (namely, my friend) needs a lesson in what propaganda-driven hit pieces, skewed to appeal to a certain group of people, look like.

As can, and do, I.

However, sensationalistic, highly-subjective hyperbole does not a reliable body of information make. What Elphaba points out bears repeating:

My final advice: Do not ever believe someone who resorts to Stalin or Hitler to prove a point. There is no comparison, and it is ultimately insulting to the millions and millions of people who lived through the horrors of that madman, every single day of their lives.
There is no correlation whatsoever, and it is a sign of stupidity. Sheer stupidity.

Leeanntheonetwo, in no way am I suggesting that we take these things too lightly. We need to be watchful and ready, for sure. But I believe it's much better to go to God for things that are His, and to trust that He will reveal the answers to us when it's time.
