I'm going to assume, that you're a fairly recent convert to the Church...and from your view of Psychology...you might have at one time in your life, held L. Ron Hubbard in high esteem....bwahahahahahaha...Just messin wid ya....

Nah, everything I know about Mormonism I learned from Battlestar Galactica!
Seriously, I am not a recent convert because if I was I probably would not be defending polygamy to this degree. When I joined the Church long ago I, like most people, believed the Bible was anti-polygamy. I just felt that there was something, some quirk, that allowed some people in the Church to practice it in the 19th. Century. Then I started reading speeches in the Journal of Discourses (I have to thank the anti Mormons in my life for introducing me to these wonderful and intellectual writings). When I read speeches by the early prophets I was impressed to research and found what they were saying to be both in line with Christian principles as well as with my views on science, society, etc.
Now as for your psychology comment, from what I understand the Scientologists hate modern psychology. So I would rather doubt John Travolta or Tom Cruz would ever quote Freud or Adler.
