I know, but I'm not sure that's what it means although it's entirely possible. In other words, those that split off from Nephi became known as Zoramites, Ishmaelites, Lamanites and were not part of the same "family" as the Mulekites or the Jaredites. There's no real way to determine the lineage though, so anyone's guess is good.
