You wouldn't put it past companies like Blackwater to commit such acts, one only has to search youtube to see the appalling attitudes of the mercenaries in Iraq.

YouTube - Blackwater mercs murder innocent people.
I have known too many people who have served in the US military who have indicated some of the dirty stuff the government of the US does. I once asked a guy (who would have been in "the know") if the US government really had assisted in the importation of drugs into the US -- he just gave me "that look" and said he would not answer that. In other cases during the Cold War we hid nuclear weapons in "neutral nations" which violated treaties with the USSR. That all came out a few years later after the USSR fell.

So I would not doubt the Russians caught some "black ops" with their pants down in Georgia and they didn't survive. Who knows if they were US citizens working for the CIA or military, mercenaries or were connected to other governments but Russia's horrendous response in this conflict may be their attempt to force the Georgian's to oust their government and also clean out any foreign advisors involved in these attacks -- that Georgia started!!!!
