Just a little thought about the 3 Nephits. When the Europeans came to the Americas one of the most interesting stories discovered about this new world started a desperate search for something that was called the “fountain of youth”. Of all the myths and legions it is interesting to me why this one seem to take hold. The reason is because there were numerous eye witness accounts that people had seen someone that was continuously young and remarkable consistency in the accounts.

A number of explorers went looking for a fountain of living water but I think they did not understand exactly what they were looking for. Jesus Christ is the fountain of youth or the fountain of living water from which the 3 Nephits had symbolically drank.

But these stories are not unique to the Americas. There are stories in ancient China as well as in Islam and during the crusades of individuals that had drank special “youth” giving holy water (often from an enchanted or sacred cup) that extended life hundreds or even thousands of years of dedication to quest of great spiritual significances.
