Hemidakota: You may be interested to know that the ancient Mayan hieroglyphics were understood using Egyptian concepts but different forms – or if you will a reformed Egyptian. The scientist responsible for first translating Mayan hieroglyphics published this in the book, “A Forest of Kings”.

BTW the Mayan “day sign” (or new beginning) according to the book is called Muluc which is also the symbol of “king”. But of course such things are coincidences.
