Regardless of the semantics, I hope it is clear that LDS people believe that visions and visitations happen that that a visit or vision from the Savior himself does not discredit the promise of the second coming in any degree. Jesus will come to rule on reign on the earth in glory again. Not in the humble circumstances of his first visit. And until then, he will and does show his body to prophets and others. This is LDS belief. It appears you believe differently. Your original question was to understand how we (LDS) reconcile it. I hope you can see that for us, there is nothing to reconcile. Only a pattern of revelation that is to be understood and followed. I understand that you do not see visions and revelation as the same thing. Fine. We as LDS see all communication from the heavens as revelation. I am confused as to how one could separate them or discount visions or dreams or angels as not being revelation.
