The United States has been in such a bizarre situation for so very long in touting human rights to other countries, but being the only industrialized country in the world that does not see to the health care needs of all its citizens. It has been estimated (before the economic crisis) that 45 million Americans are without affordable health care. That number has no doubt climbed by now. Regardless of how many millions are without such care, US citizens should be receiving some type of workable health care through a functioning health care system.
Republican's by now realize that the only time significant gains are made for the populace as a whole is when there is a Democratic President and both Houses of Congress are controlled by the Democrats. At these times, they are capable of passing such legislation as to bring Social Security, Medicare and now a health care system into being. This has been such a hot potato issue, but I realize after watching TV, that health care in Hoboken is indeed thought of differently than in the Hamptons. The Republicans taking their cue from the Hamptons have no choice but to act as an impediment to legislation that benefits the entire populace.
Yes, I realize that many of you think that health care for all is the work of the adversary, as well as the instrument that will plunge us headlong into full scale socialism.
