While I hope that you won't stay away, I think you misunderstood the post to which you are referring. You were criticized for being inaccurate, not for your belief. The examples of Nephi and Abraham that you cited were not examples of obedience to the prophet, but examples of obedience to the Lord. Abraham was the prophet at the time he was commanded to sacrifice Isaac, and no mortal commanded him to do so. Nephi was "constrained by the Spirit" and again, not by any mortal person. It was a matter of clarification and accuracy for which you were criticized, and not your belief or testimony.
