Seriously, that never ceases to amaze me either.
I love Sam. He is such an under appreciated character, person. He supported Nephi completely. He was just very quiet about it.

But it's God the Father who spoke face to face with Moses. . . So that means some people *could* be in the presence of the Father.
And it appeared to me that in the Sections of the Doctrine and Covenants we just read that it was God the Father speaking to Joseph Smith.
