All Mormons are Christians, not all Christians are Mormons.
As far as proof, outside of the Bible, prove to me that Jesus existed, prove to me that He was the Son of God, prove to me that he was resurrected, prove to me that a whale swallowed Jonah, or that Israel wandered 40 years in the desert or were even captives of Egypt. Just because a book uses real place names and some real events does not mean everything it prints is true -- else Gone with the Wind (along with 1000's of other works of fictions) would be true and have all the proof you seem to need.
Don't get me wrong, I believe the Bible -- but there is no proof for most of the events inside its pages. How about holding the BoM to the same standard.

Oh, and the Book of Mormon is not meant to take the place of the Bible - we use both, they go hand in hand.
