Default Removing the knife too soon

I have something floating around in my head about people who come into an emergency room with knife wounds. I have heard that often it is not a good idea to simply remove the knife - you may end-up doing more harm than good. The knife has to stay in for a while while X rays are taken, exploratory surgery is performed, etc. Yes, the knife has to come out at some point, and eventually it will. But wisdom must attend what is done.

There are spiritual parallels with the way God works with us and chooses to answer our prayers, sometimes seemingly contrary to our expectations, but it turns-out to be His wisdom dealing with us thus.

Where does this story come from? Did I hear it from somebody in this forum? I got the idea from somewhere.

Any help?

Default Well like a Tack Sticking In A Bike Tire

The knife may be one of the things that's ebbing the flow of the blood. Pull it out and all the air..er...blood comes out maybe?

From what I understand of emergency first aid, it's best just to immobilise the knife (so that it isn't able to move around and do more damage type of thingy).
