Default Where should this thread go? Visiting other wards

Here's the situation: my roomie and I are going to Akron, OH for a convention this weekend. We had planned to go to church in a YSA ward in North Canton that we looked up on the church website. We will have two investigators with us.

Two questions: if a ward is listed in the church website is it safe to think it's alive and well? It's the only ward listed in the stake that doesn't meet at 9AM and we'd hate to miss church when we have friends coming with us.

The other question: Is it a good idea to call ahead and let them know we're coming?

The phone call couldnt hurt. That way if you do get in touch with someone you could ask the times the first meeting starts and ect. good luck!

alive and well is a realtive term, usually ysa wards are all pretty decent, but i know for a fact the one assoc. with u. of chicago is on life support, are you on facebook? have you tried to poke around the groups and find someone in that ward on there? my ysa ward in indy is all over facebook as a major means of communication

i'd call just to make sure the times are right online. if you wanted you could use that as a chance to get other information too. lol
