Default Can you confess over the phone?

Do you actually need to go visit the bishop in his office or can it be done over the phone?

Must meet with the Bishop.

I started conffessing on the phone once and my bishop told me that I should always do it in person. Just think about it... it's a lot harder to sit in front of someone, look them in the eye, and confess. In the end, however, you walk out of his office feeling so much better! Confession is hard - I think it's supposed to be. The rewards are great though.

I've found that I can never truly start repenting unless I sit in my bishop's office, pray with him, and listen and accept his counsel. Remember, that's what they're there for!

God Bless

Wouldn't it be great to go to a confessional casino, where with the right combination of cherries or lucky sevens, you could win absolution?

This is something that is done in person. Now there are times when you might need to check up with the bishop (where a full internvew isn't needed) this can be done over the phone at some times.

I think it might be something worth doing if it opens the conversation and you feel more comfortable than in a face-to-face interview. Better than procrastinating to take a small step in the right direction of facing something that you want to do. Why not.

Language is not the only form of communication. You may not feel the love needed from the bishop over the phone. I got pregnant before I got married so I've been in the bishops office to confess to fornication. Not easy let me tell ya, but the love I saw in his eyes was all I needed to know I was on the right path to full forgiveness.
