Default What should I do??

Hi I am 17 years old and I am the Laurel president in my ward, there are only about 10-12 girls that are active and they are all very sweet and we get along just fine.
But there is this little problem, I want to be friends with one of the girls there, she just turned 16, she has two others sisters 12, and 15. When I say friends I mean to invite to the movies, sleep overs and to just hang out. My mom says that it would be rude if I just invite one sister and that I would be hurting the other 2 sisters feelings. Is it okay if I just invite one of them over, or am I being insensitive to the other 2?

i don't think it would be rude. she's more your age than the others. maybe if she was 17 and her sister was 16, but i think you'd be fine in inviting just the one sister.

Sorry but I just gotta laugh when you say ONLY 10-12 girls are active. You gotta be in Utah right? We would kill for that number of active YW in my ward. Oh and I agree with Lby.

Isn't that the truth! We are up to four active girls this year! Two years ago we had only two...

Not every ward in Utah has tons of kids. I live in the Salt Lake Valley and my son will be the deacon's quorum president right after he gets the priesthood next week. He will be the only deacon in the ward for 6 months. I grew up with more kids in the ward when I lived in Idaho.

Hi MormonGirl.
Just like to say, everyone is allowed to have their own friends, and yes i can see where your mum is coming from, but the other girls probably have their own friends anyway.

Ahhh Southern Cali..... How I miss thee so....
I grew up in San Diego and we did have a pretty good population of YM/YW. Those were the days. We even had superactivities!!! I remember one we went for a whole week to Catalina. That was awesome let me tell you.

No I don't believe it would be rude. Laurels should be able to hang out with each other without 10 and 12 yr olds around. What if she had sisters that were 8 and 6 too.

I agree. When my 10 year old has a friend over I do not make him invite his friends 5 year old brother and 7 year old sister.
