Teach him to drive a car (down the street, in the city, on the freeway, in the rain, in the snow, etc.) and be patient. It might take a lot of times driving up and down the same street but he'll get better as he practices.

Remember to deal with both positive and negative behaviors by giving them the attention required.

Don't buy him a brand new car when he turns 16. Have him work off a safe and reliable cheap used car with some monthly payment plan with you. Be as strict as a regular bank and charge interest. This teaches him to take care of the car so he's probably not going to drive around like mad and it gives him his first lesson in credit management. The interest he pays can go towards his mission/college fund.

Make sure he wears proper boy scout uniform even if it means you have to do the laundry at the most in-opportune moment.

Help develop his mind through critical thinking

Get on his level (vertically) sometimes. It makes it easier for them when we get down on their level-and can be appropriate some times.

Make him laugh and enjoy the sound

Teach him to look nice because appearances do matter.

Do not allow him to be a bad sport. Show him how to be a good sport even when he loses.
