Individual circumstances vary, but after being baptized you will need to wait one year to take out your own endowments. Again depending on your circumstance after you get baptized you 'should' be able to do baptisms for the dead prior to your one year mark.

Different for men and women. If allowed to be rebaptized then there is little that will keep a woman from attending the temple afterwards. For a man he needs to have his priesthood blessing restored. That could take years.

I agree with Ben. I know someone very near and dear to me that was excommunicated at one point in his life. It took many years to have the Priesthood blessings restored.

Yes, you can do baptisms for the dead pretty quickly, and that is temple work!

The time line will be determined by you.

That's true to an extent but not entirely.

I've done many of these cases. Handbook says 'usually' a year for re-baptism, then after re-baptism it 'must be' a year before we send in the paperwork to 1st presidency for restoration of Blessings. But first your bishop needs to be convinced that you're fully repented, then the stake president needs to be convinced to permit a new disciplinary council. then they hold a bishops council again to allow rebaptism. (That disciplinary council normally goes smoothly and quickly)

A year after that day minimum they'll do the required paperwork, which can be complicated and takes a few weeks to put together sometimes more eg if the sin in question caused the divorce they invite your ex to write a letter too and chasing him up can take time. Today if everythings in order -time and correct paperwork- 1st presidency takes two months average to answer. But they set up an interview time with a Genera Authority to interview you again and if he believes you are fully repented, he does the blessing then and there and its all finished. Depending where you live it could be an apostle who interviews you, but if they aren't around and your case is 'standard', like for adultery, it goes to a seventy and even an Area Seventy if no one higher is available. Cases involving children are almost always done by apostles or the area president (abortion is generally speaking standard too) Also note that your membership records go back to all the original dates after the restoration ie original baptism which could be at 8 years old etc.

Its a rather long road and it can be painful at times cause you have to retell the sin and say in several interviews how you've repented but at the end you yourself will have the proof the God has fully forgiven you as has the church too and you can move on because Satan will always try to convince you otherwise. The church also makes sure that only the truly repentant return by this process. People like Wanda Barzee wont be able to fool so many priesthood leaders to get re-baptized. If they let her it will be because she is truly repented.

All the best

Oh forgot to mention, all up the best time line to aim for would be about three years odd to get through it all starting from today, can be quicker if its a standard, say, adultery case, if everything is in order, you are truly repented and the bishop/SP know how to do paperwork or they have a good competent clerk!

That's technically incorrect for an endowed person who was excommunicated then re-baptized only. They should wait for the restoration first.

But what happens is that some bishops don't know so they treat them as they do a new convert or youth who can go and do baptisms, but it shouldn't happen.
