Default excommunicated tonight. question about timeline

I just got excommunicated tonight. I know that it will be a year before I can be rebaptized. Does anyone know how long it is before I can have my temple blessings restored, assuming I do everything I need to? Is it a year AFTER I get rebaptized? Is it a year from now? Just want to know what the timeline looks like.

I don't know what the timeline is..but I have to say...I think it's wonderful that you are looking towards the future that way. That's awesome.

Restoration of Priesthood or temple blessings?

I'm so happy that you are already working towards being back in the temple. What a wonderful spirit you posses. A lot of people would allow this to get them down and not see the positive in it. : ) This is a chance for a fresh start. Seriously, major kudos.

I'm sorry that I don't have the exact answer. The only person I know who was ex'ed returned to the temple slightly more than two years after his council. I'm not sure if that's just the pre-requisite time period or just what his leaders found appropriate for him.

Freedom112, it isn't a matter of a set time, it's a matter of when you are ready. My advise to you is work on the whys of the excommunication and how to prevent it from ever happening again, and then you'll be ready to take on the extra commitment of full church membership. Sometimes we need to take a step back and observe behaviors and thought-processes that lead us into sin, I assume that is why most people take about 1 year to get rebaptized. This time is truly a blessing, when any slips or step-backs can be washed away in the baptismal waters. Just do what needs to be done and the blessings will follow

I don't know if I have ever heard of firm time lines. The one year mark get thrown around a lot, but each person's situation is so different, that I don't think anyone could predict, least of all your bishop. I think the bishop or SP will probably wait for your progress to tell them when its time and I would guess that the spirit would work inside of you that way too. I know of situations where blessing took three years to reinstate and another situation where blessings were restored early because the person truly changed sooner than expected.

Listen to the spirit now and focus on your important tasks of today. If you just came out of the excommunication session, I would think that breathing and resting and healing a bit might be in order. We shouldn't run faster than we have strength. We don't need to. Love yourself in the place you are in today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

Here's to hope and healing and courage and the beloved Jesus who helps us maintain all of them.

Thank you for all of the kind words. However, I just want to know what the TIMELINE is. I know that I can be rebaptized in one year if I keep it together. I want to know what the TYPICAL timeline is for going back to the temple after excommunication. Thanks
