I could tell you aplenty, but since this is an LDS site and I consider many of the LDS here to be my friends, I won't. There are many issues that you could easily find out about online. I was one who joined the LDS church without knowing about these issues. When I found out about some of them I could no longer believe the things that I thought were true.

So, I'm not saying that you shouldn't join, but I do think you should investigate fully before converting so that you are not blindsided.

i mean, sure i realize these people are your friends but if they are all members of the church then they all know about these things and shouldnt have any problem with it.

I would not go online searching for things! The internet is full of false information about our religion, including things said by former members. What questions do you have specifically?! I have been a member all my life and I do not claim to know everything yet! My advice would be to pray about what you do know, ask the missionaries further questions, try to talk to the bishop, and if you have a good feeling get baptized. The gospel is instructed to us line upon line and precept upon precept. Good Luck! Please feel free to ask me any questions and I'll do my best!!!!!

alright heres probably the first of many questions i'll ask.............

when they are getting married in a temple, why is it against the rules to have non-members in there with them? if one of the members parents arent mormon they cant attend.
how is this right?

another question i have is........if god says that everyone is equal then why do mormons put millions of dollars into temples when there are starving people on the street?

i hope im not insulting anybody with these questions but i would really like to know these things before i go any further with this religion

temples are holy places where we make covenants with God. You must make certain commitments and sacrifices to be considered "worthy" to enter these holy places.

our members donate millons of dollars a year to feed and clothe the poor and impoverished worldwide

because temples are holy places, the are constructed using the finest materials...made beautiful in the sight of God.

so you'd rather have a great big building made of the finest materials that only "worthy" people can use instead of feeding the needy with those millions of dollars?
