Default Temple Clothing

So my daughter is getting ready to start going to the temple for proxy's. Our nearest temple is only a mini, so it won't have the clothing rental. What do I need to buy her so that she has what she needs? And does it have to be ordered thru the church or can i buy some of it elsewhere? (ie, white shoes at a local store) and if I do that, what do I need to know so that she meets what needs to be met?

The temple clothing that you use in the temple is bought through the church.

Things like white shoes and white socks can be bought anywhere. As long as they are completely white. For example guys just need to have a long sleeve white shirt which I got at the store. I think everything else I got through the church distribution.

You know what you get in the temple, if you can find it else where that is fine.
Obviously some things used in the temple aren't found at stores.

By "proxy's", do you mean baptisms? According to the age on your profile I am guessing you don't have children old enough to be receiving their endowments.

For baptisms, she does not need any special clothing. She just needs to wear Sunday best, and everything she needs to wear during the baptisms is provided by the Temple.....jumpsuit, underwear....

If she prefers, she can wear her own underwear, she just needs to be sure it is white and to bring an extra set.

Yes I do mean baptisms.

And does the temple still provide what she needs to wear if it's only a mini?

I've never heard of anyone having to rent or buy the necessary clothing to do baptisms. Call the Temple and ask, just to be sure.

Church distribution has some inexpensive clothing you can purchase in advance, their shipping is pretty quick too. I used to buy mine at the temple store adjacent to our temple, but they closed it down and now we have to drive 45 minutes across town to Deseret Book.

If she's just going for baptisms, all she'll need is dry underwear -- the temple will provide the jumpsuits.
