Default Brazilian Missionary Visa

I didn't get a reply in the general discussion board so Im gonna post this for you guys.

Hi, I was called the Brazil Maceio mission in May. My entrance date for the MTC in Sao Paulo is October 3rd (leave the 2nd). My question is how long does it take to get a Visa to Brazil? I had my Visa application in 3 weeks after my call (last week of May), and online it says it has been "received" but not "processing". Its has said "received" for 2 or so months now. Same with my brothers (I am a triplet and all 3 of us were called to Brazil. They were called to Recife and Ribeiro Preto). So does anyone know how long it will take to get my Visa? Thank you!

No. No one is going to know how long it will take. I believe getting a Visa is up to the country. I know that when I was in the MTC, there were some missionaries who were delayed to their country because of Visa problems. On my mission, I had to go to the border of the country each month to renew my Visa.

So, unfortunately, you won't be able to put a timeline on the Visa. You may get people telling you of their experience, but don't count on it being the same for you.

Good luck, Elder, to you and your brothers.
