Default Which song to perform at friends' wedding?

Some friends of ours asked me and my husband to perform a song at their wedding in May. I'll be singing and my husband will be accompanying on guitar.

This will be the first time I've sung at a wedding and I want the song to be lovely. However, everytime I think of a song to perform I realize it contains inappropriate lyrics or it's too depressing or something like that... lol

Please, everyone!! I need some ideas!!

Our friends said they are happy for us to perform any song as long as it is suitable for a wedding at Church... (But not necessarily church songs only though)

Any good song suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

My wife's family sung "When you say nothing at all" by Allison Crause (sp?).

Paul Stookey's The Wedding Song is my favorite.

Moksha, that's almost spooky... I was literally just listening to this song on youtube after never having heard it before and then I come here and see your post! How funny.
I must say it is a lovely song.

I sang this song at a friend's wedding, and it turned out nicely, even though I am not the best singer in the world!!

Good Luck!!

My sister-in-law-to-be sang this at my wedding. Not sure if it would be right for you, it has the word wine in it. But it's still a lovely song.

Today
(Words and Music by Minstrels' leader Randy Sparks)

Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joy that is mine today.

Now I'll be a dandy, and I'll be a rover.
You'll know who I am by the song that I sing.
I'll feast at your table, I'll sleep in your clover.
Who cares what tomorrow shall bring.

I can't be contented with yesterday's glory.
I can't live on promises, winter to spring.
Today is my moment, and now is my story.
I'll laugh and I'll cry and I'll sing.

Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joy that is mine today.

This is an absolutely wonderful song. The New Christy Minstrels were great.
