Default "How Exaltation Will Be Accomplished" by By Alonzo L. Gaskill

Meridian Magazine :: Books: How Exaltation Will Be Accomplished

Snippet:
Quote:
A number of revealed truths lead us to a belief that the Plan works and that you and I likely will be exalted:
  • the merciful, loving, and benevolent nature of the Father
  • the perfect Atonement wrought by the Son
  • the nature and length of the mortal experience
  • high infant mortality rates, coupled with the truth that children are not accountable for sin
  • Satan is to be bound during the Millennium

Excellent article and worth reading. I liked the way he summed it up in the end...

Quote:
Doctrinally speaking, it certainly appears that the Plan was designed to work, that it was created to exalt more individuals than it would damn. Such a doctrine “tastes good” to those who have felt of God's love and “tender mercies” (Psalm 51:1). Such a doctrine brings comfort, reassurance, and a confidence to endure trials.

Such a doctrine builds hope and faith. And such a doctrine enables us to see God for what He really is — the ultimate, loving Father.

- high infant mortality rates, coupled with the truth that children are not accountable for sin

This has to be one of the most difficult things for people to bare and endure. Joseph and Emma Smith endured such a hardship, but what a merciful act by the Lord to guarantee such valiant little souls to be exalted on high rather than endure the pains of persecution that the prophet and his wife suffered. I'm sure they grieved sorely while in mortality, but rejoice now.

It sure better work! I am not into no progression. Kinda like moving forward!

Wish Satan was bound now! Kinda done with the little bugger!

Really comforting to know that on the other side is rest. And that Satan cannot and will not win.

I am under the same notion....there is progession even after the Celestial glory. I have some reservation years ago when I first felt the prompting to look at this whole 'no progression' concept when two of the brethren spoke oft on this subject. Since then, bit by bit, it came by a few promptings that there is more.

My joy will come when I can hug both Heavenly Parents in giving me life with a Spirit body and senses from this mortal flesh. I cannot even begin to tell you, the joy it does bring me to know that they are both real and very loving FATHER and MOTHER. It only brings tears to my eyes.
