By Studs Terkel.

The book is a compilation of personally written mini biographies by folks past their seventies. There are lots of different kinds of people with lots of different careers and interests... political activists, a press agent, a huckster, member of the American communist party, carpenters, an angry farmer, union organizer etc.

Each story is engaging and well-written (must have had professional editors and each is introduced by Studs Terkel. I've always been very conservative, polictically but after reading these real life stories, I have a greater appreciation for liberal sensibilities.
