Default From a Catholic " hi " to a Catholic " goodbye"

Hello to all,

As I started by saying " A Catholic hi "
I now offer my " Catholic goodbye "

I would like to start with a HUGE thank you to all the LDS members that have been so kind, considerate, and warm with me during my visit on this forum. ( THANKS A TON )

The reason I came to visit was to try and gain LDS perspective directly from LDS people.
I can honestly say that I have indeed gained much of this perspective that I was looking for. I feel I now own a debt of gratitude to so many of you for your genuine willingness to share your beliefs with me. For what it's worth, I ( Catholic ) have been very impressed and truly humbled to see the way in which many of you shine the light of Jesus to eachother as well as myself. ( great example to so many ).

It was never my desire to " judge " any of your beliefs, rather , due to so much ignorance and " street talk ",I came here to find out for myself what the LDS was all about.

I will not go into what we agree to disagree about ( a mute point as well as an obvious one ) But woulld like to leave you with some of the things I have learned of the LDS during my short yet pleasurable journey here. I can now appreciate the obvious faith bond that you all share with eachother. I have a new found respect for the love you have in Christ. I am enormously impressed with the ability to share and defend your beliefs with non members of LDS. I have seen, in a very short time, the passion and true love for the LDS church as well as it's pioneers. I have a much better understanding of the organization and structure of the LDS religion. Last but certainly not least, I can see why so many have chosen this ( LDS ) to call home.

It, to me, has not only been very educational and fun, but has truly been a sincere pleasure to " chat " with you all about the beliefs, faith, and perspectives that we each hold so precious to our very soul.

I say THANKS and goodbye. ( until we may meet again, God bless you all and I wish all my new LDS friends peace, health, and happiness )

God bless,
Carl ( ceeboo )

Thanks for being a part of this forum Ceeboo. I hope that you will continue your friendship with us. Although I was just an "observer" in the thread you made I am grateful to make your acquaintance here. I was a Catholic who grew up in the Philippines, a country rich in Catholic heritage and traditions. I converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 18. I have a deeper understanding of the Savior's mission since I became a member and a better resolve to follow His commandments and example. Good luck in your life's journey and God bless.

I always wanted a Catholic friend and now that I have finally made one, you are hitting the road??? (as I wrinkle my disgruntled nose)

Well, it has been a pleasure and I am sorry to see you go. Take care over there in Catholic land. Best wishes to you and yours. And if you ever feel an overwhelming need to play the questions game, maybe you could come visit. Heaven knows we will probably still be playing!

Waving as you leave......
