183 4 - The Kirtland High Council met according to the directions of Bishop Whitney, "to try Brother Sylvester Smith" who had accused the Prophet Joseph Smith of misconduct during the march of Zion's Camp. During the course of the trial the Prophet Joseph Smith was cleared of all charges against him. (History of the Church, 2:150-160)

1835 - The Prophet Joseph Smith preaches on the duty of wives at a meeting in Kirtland, Ohio. (History of the Church, 2:253)

1838 - The Kirtland Camp "made every exertion in our power to start" for Missouri, but was unable to do so because of the shortage of teams to pull wagons. A meeting of the brethren of the camp was called in the evening to work out the details and tribulations among the camp members. The Spirit rested upon them and they returned to their tents "with joyful hearts" and a determination to leave the next morning.

1843 - The Prophet Joseph Smith was visited by a delegation of Pottawattamie Native Americans in Nauvoo, Illinois.

1844 - Just two months after the death of the Prophet Joseph, Elders Wilford Woodruff, Dan Jones, and Hiram Clark, with their families, left for missions in England.

1852 - The Church announces the expansion of missionary work in India, Siam, and Hong Kong.

1889 - A group of Hawaiian Saints arrives at the Church-owned ranch in Skull Valley, Utah, and names the settlement Iosepa (Joseph in Hawaiian) in honor of Joseph Smith and Joseph F. Smith, who had served in Hawaii as a missionary.

1987 - The Frankfurt Germany Temple is dedicated by President Ezra Taft Benson.

1993 - Elder Russell M. Nelson attends the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago, Illinois, exactly 100 years after the body rejected a Latter-day Saint delegation headed by Elder B. H. Roberts.

2005 - The Newport Beach California Temple is dedicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
