In our stake they hold a salmon derby and the preisthood serves the sister the most fabulous fresh BBQ salmon dinner before the broadcast .. what a great girls nite out! The derby winner ..... biggest salmon caught ... wins a quadruple combination set of scriptures. This has been going on for about 4 years now.

Our Stake also does a dinner and musical and/or service program prior to the broadcast. Often we have the Priesthood serving us (nothing as fancy as salmon though!) I look forward to it every year.

We're gonna have ice cream. Sounds like small potatoes compared to you folks.

We are having a "Light" dinner= Mini Pizzas, green salad, Soup, dessert. We will be taping the broadcast, then will watch it after dinner/socializing. Oh, and it is Sunday Dress. No jeans or sweats.

We are starting at 5 PM- I am really looking forward to it.

It's a good meeting. You will hear from each member of the General RS Presidency as well as whichever First Presidency member is presiding. Great talks, always worthwhile. It's part of my regular monthly listening rotation with General Conference between October and March.
