Secretive Religious Group
Here is an unusual story:

NBC News Exclusive: Political ties to a secretive religious group

By Andrea Mitchell and Jim Popkin, NBC News
For more than 50 years, the National Prayer Breakfast has been a Washington institution. Every president has attended the breakfast since Eisenhower, elbow-to-elbow with Democrats and Republicans alike.

Sounds good but now read the weird stuff:
Quote:
In his preaching, Coe repeatedly urges a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. It’s a commitment Coe compares to the blind devotion that Adolph Hitler demanded from his followers -- a rhetorical technique that now is drawing sharp criticism.
"Hitler, Goebbels and Himmler were three men. Think of the immense power these three men had, these nobodies from nowhere,” Coe said.

What a load. The first commandment is love the LORD with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. But you can't keep that one and break the second which is love your fellow man as yourself.
'Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.'

Wow. This is really troubling. I have heard of this group before, but nothing in detail. All I know is that they do not allow LDS offer the local prayers during national prayer week. I wonder what else the reporters came across, but could not print out of editorial concerns.

Coe also quoted Jesus and said: “One of the things [Jesus] said is 'If any man comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, brother, sister, his own life, he can't be a disciple.’ So I don't care what other qualifications you have, if you don't do that you can't be a disciple of Christ."
|
So is he actually saying that in order to be a Christian you have to hate your family? No wonder Hilary didn't mind about Monika then.

I'm surprised it took the drive-by's so long to find Hillary and McCain's 'Rev Wright'...
That is all this is: an attempt to show that Obama has his nuts, the others have theirs...
