Israel beginning training to take on Iran

On Friday, June 20th, 2008 the evening news was aglow with stories of Israel planning bombing missions to take out Iran's nuclear facilities. The story went on to tell how 100 U.S. made fighters all flew out over the Mediterranean in formation and height of a bombing raid. They went out just enough miles of what it would take to destroy Iran's nuclear reactors.

Two weeks ago, Israeli advisor Ulmar met with President Bush for talks of a pre-emptive strike to take out Iran's nuclear sites. President Bush's response was that the U.S. was still trying peaceful means to the solution, but that all options were on the table. It was also stated that if Israel did go in to Iran, the U.S. would not try and stop them.

This concern is due to the fact that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been in a fervent quest to develop nuclear weapons to blow Israel off the map once and for all. This all started for him back in 2005 when he was sworn in as President of Iran. He promised then that he would bring about the means of the return of Islam's Christ, the 12th Iman, which is prophesied to come again in an apocalyptic war between the Jews and the Christian's. Back in 2005 when he was sworn in and again last year at Columbia University, President Ahmadinejad publicly prayed they he might have the strength to fulfilling his role in preparing the way of the 12th Iman.

It's a no win situation. President Ahmadinejad has promised to blow Israel off the map the minute they perfect the bomb, and then to share the nuclear technology with all the other radical Islamic states. But they warn that if Israel attacks the sacred country of Iran, then they will unleash a holy Jihad that will set the Middle East in an uproar.

Israeli analyst Shimon Shiffer stated that the threat is real, and that Israel has the right to protect itself. Former Prime Minister Benjarmin Netanjahu stated in a interview that was aired back on May 12th that if the U.S. wasn't going to go in and take out the nuclear threat in Iran, that Israel not only was capable, but would have to remove this threat. That is what Israel did back in 1967 during the 6 day war, when a host of Islamic Countries came forth and began amassing on Israel's border to drive them into the sea, Israel attacked first and took out the air support of those who would do them harm. The world cried foul. Back in 1981, Sadam Husain was in a quest to develop nuclear weapons again, to blow Israel off the map, and again, Israel went in and took out the nuclear facility. Again, last year in Sept 2007, Israel went into Syria and took out a nuclear facility that they had started working on with North Korea.

However, Iran isn't being backed by North Korea. Iran is being backed by Russia. With every move that the United Nations and the United States tries to impose sanctions, Russia is there blocking the efforts. It is reported that Russia even has their scientists helping out Iran with their quest for nuclear weapons.

For those who are up on their Bible Prophecy, this is the mixture of an apocalyptic war that is known as the Battle of Gog and Magog. This is a war that will happen at the last days (Ez 38:8) which will involve Gog and Magog (Russia), Persia (the official name for Iran up until 1939) Cush (Sudan, Ethiopia, and possibly Eritrea) Put (Libya, Algeria, and Tunisia) Gomer (Turkey) Sheba and Dedan Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, and the Gulf states... The above were the names of the lands back in Old Testament days. When this coalition goes after Israel in the last days, 80% of them will be destroyed.... But with that much activity, will the rest of the world escape without a scratch? Always a good idea to prepare in all things, both spiritually and temporally. Time to get our years supply of food and water and T.P.

One more tid-bit of information, Israel is running out of time on two fronts. 1st- every day that goes by is one day closer to Iran developing a bomb. 2nd Israel knows who the President of the United States is today. They know that if they go in and smack a hornets nest in Iran, that President Bush will support them when trouble comes. However, in seven months from now, will we really have a President that will support Israel. Baraack Obama has pledged to bring our troops home, to get our men out of the middle east. Will Israel really want to risk going to war with Iran if Obama wins. That is a good reason that all of this can play out in the next 6 months. And right now, in most poles Barack in 15 points ahead of McCain.

A couple of things to add in regards to Revelations and books like Daniel in the OT. The only army able to field 250 million men is China. Up until now the idea of China being interested in the Middle East was not all that practical to consider. However, with China being oil hungry they have now forged alliances with Sudan (who blocks all the condemnations in the Security Councel?) and Iran. Russia is rather a rogue player at this time because the people described in the references to Gog and Magog were tribes that inhabited the areas of the Black Sea in those days -- not the Great Russians who are a blend of Slav, Finn and Swedish Viking (with a bit of Tatar thrown in). However, the Slavs are not reproducing at the same rate as the southern peoples and this, combined with immigration, makes it likely that Russia will someday not be run by Slavs but by the peoples who used to inhabit the ares described in Daniel.

That is a very interesting and complex topic. One, I may ad, that can rarely be approached with clarity and objectivity unless one has been around the region and understand closely the very intricate and long history of the parties involved. I have friends in northern Israel and have visited with them many times. Because of the color of my skin and language proficiency I can travel the region pretty much in "camouflage" both, in the Israeli controlled areas and in the Arab controlled regions.

The threat as perceived by Israel is very real. Do not forget that they have been attacked 3 times by its neighbors in less than 50 years. What other country had to endure that? Just a couple of years ago Northern Israel received 500 rocket hits from Lebanon in 8 weeks. Just imagine, for the sake of the argument, what would the US response be if the Mexicans would shoot 50 rockets at San Diego, CA over a weekend.

Keep in mind also that a prophet described in Revelations something he had no language for since they will occur in the very distant future. We are only capable to elaborate verbally in contemporary terms. In the 1950's we came up with "flying saucer" because that was the ONLY thing we could come up with at the time. UFO came 20 years later or so. Therefore, who will be or what ethnic mixture could be present in an event X-distant in the future is pretty hard to predict. 25% of the American people are of recent arrival (less than 20 years) and of a race other than Caucasian. That is since 1980.

It makes for pretty interesting conversation, however.

I would like to respond in part to your comment. A lot of the times people get prophecies mixed up. The army of 250 million that is spoken of in Revelations is different that the army that will be raised in the Gog and Magog skirmish. It speaks of an army advancing like a storm, and like a cloud covering the land, (Ez 38:9) The other thing is that in all of the list of key players, China isn't listed, and I think that the reason China will be all that more powerful in the last days (after Gog and Magog) is that they weren't involved, neither were they invited.

I also think that the key players Gog and Magog, Meshech and Tubal, Cush, Put... all date back to the son's son's of Noah. They later evolved into the Skithians.

Fast forwarding to our day, Russia (Gog and Magog) has long had their eyes on Israel. In the summer of 1982, for example, then Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin went public with a story that prior to that time had been known only to the upper echelons of Israeli and U.S. intelligence. The Israeli Defense forces, he explained, had uncovered a secret but massive cashe of Soviet weaponry in deep underground cellars and tunnels in Lebanon that had caught him and his top advisers completely off guard. The weapons appeared to have been prepositioned by Moscow for the launching of a full-scale invasion of Israel and the oil rich nations of the Middle East.

Begin said Israel had found "ten times more Russian weapons than were previously reported." The haul, he told reporters included 4,000 tons of ammunition, 144 armored vehicles and tanks, 12,500 pieces of small arms, 515 heavy weapons, 359 sophisticated communications devices, and 795 "Optical instruments" including night vision gogles and field glasses. It was enough, Begin believed to equip at least five Russian combat brigades and required, according to one one report, a fleet of 10 ton trucks, working day andnight for six weeks to haul them back to Israel. Russia supplies most of the weapons currently in use in the middle east, north Africa and sub-Sahara Africa. Since the Iran-Contra affair, the Pentagon stepped on their scrutiny of weapon sales.
It is not a surprise that Rusia is all ovder the map. The Caspian Sea is mostly a black market route for everything between east and west with Iran as the gate keeper.

Also, it may be very difficult to distinguish between a Russian made and a Chinese made Kalashnikov assault rifle. In any events, selling weapons and technology has been the only influence that Russia has been able to assert in the region after their colossal collapse of the late 80"s.

In sum, EVERYONE hates Israel in the region. It is a tiny country surrounded by sworn enemies that believe they have no right to exist. A coalition of several million soldiers from several countries is not too far fetched.

I would like to thank you for your comments Islander. War and skirmishes have permeated the news over the last 10 or 15 years that we as a culture have been desensitized to the pressure put on Israel. It's kind of like Joseph Smith being arrested. In the beginning, it was very traumatic, but at the end, people just thought, oh, he got arrested again, that's OK, he get out soon. Only to realize that this time, he and his brother were shot and killed. It is very easy for us to go on with our lives here on the other side of the country and not notice the danger brewing on the other side of the world.

Considering that Dmitry Medvedev is ethnically Jewish I am not sure the Russian state at this time is really dedicated to the destruction of Israel.

The amazing thing about prophecy, it will always come to pass. Maybe not in my time our yours but it will always come to pass. An example of this was when Jesus said,

Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down. Matt 24:2

This was Jesus' words to his deciples concerning the destruction of the temple. Nobody believed him. They knew that it took 46 years to build and since it was the house of God, it would not or could not be destroyed. Sadly they were mistaken, for in the year 70 A.D. it was destroyed by Titus and his goons, and not one stone was left on top of another.

When Jesus prophecied that he would go to Jerusalem and be taken, scourged and then crucified,again, nobody believed him, and yet it happen just as Jesus prophecied.

There is a great number of prophecies in the old testiment about the restoration of Israel to the land of Israel, and for 1900 years that never happen, and so people asumed that those prophecies were void, but in 1948, Israel was restored just like Ezekiel prophecied.

There are over 400 prophecies in the old testiment alone that has come to pass perfectly. In the Gog and Magog prophecy, the Lord gives more clues- "You will come from your homeland in the distant north with your vast cavalry and your mighty army... Ez 38:15. Far North is Russia.

I can't really say what events will happen in the future to line this up, but this I do know, Russia, Iran, Syria, Lebonon, Sudan and others will go up against Israel to capture "vast amounts of plunder for the people are rich with livestock and other possessions."

The Lord then said to Noah, Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.... Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground, male and female come to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah, and after the seven days, the flood waters came on the earth. Gen 7:1,10
When the people saw the animals loading into the ark, then the flood came seven days later. This was a pretty major sign to the people of Noah's day, and still only 8 people were saved when the flood came. I'm sure that Noah preached until he was blue in the face, and still nobody listened.

Mr. Hemidakota, you have said that "this is not the end of time... even if Israel is out training for mobilization," I would say that the fact that Israel is training is a super sign that the animals are loading into the ark.

President Mahmound Ahmadinejad has promised that as soon as they perfect the nuclear bomb, they are going to blow Israel off the map once and for all. He has made that threat many, many times, even as little as two months ago. Israel is very aware of his intentions. Now do they just put up their feet and let him finish his bomb, our do they take out his capability like they did with Sadam Hussien back in 1981, or with Syria back in 2007. Now in the book Jerusalem Countdown it reads-

Amid growing concern that Israel might launch a preemptive strike against Iran's budding nuclear program, the United States is moving ahead with the transfer to Israel of 5,000 heavy, precision-guided bombs, including 500 "earth-penetrating" 2,000 pound bombs designed for use against underground facilities...The transfer also includes 2,500 2,000 pound Mark 84_bombs, 500 1,000 pound Mark 83 bombs, 500 pound Mark-82 bombs and live fuses. All the bombs are being fitted with the Joint direct Air Munitions kit which uses inertial guidance and beacons from U.S. military Global Positioning Satellites for deadly accuracy.

That's an arsenal for war, said Joseph Cirincione, senior associate for non-proliferation at the Carnegia Endowment for International Peace in Washington. He said any attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, clustered in three major complexes and dozens of other sites, wouldn't be a pinprick strike: it would have to be a large-scale military air strike that would result in large-scale casualties. If Iran is attacked, they have promised "We will deal seriously with all threats made by the Israelis and the Americans. The people behind these threats are playing with fire. We warn them against becoming involved in a war of aggression against us. JC 10
In comments following his election, the new president vowed to ignite a worldwide Islamic revolution. Thanks to the blood of the martyrs, a new Islamic revolution has arisen and the Islamic revolution of 1384 (the current Iranian year) will, if Allah wills, cut off the roots of injustice in the world, The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world.

Just weeks after his election, Ahmadinejad,the new president of Iran addressed a conference in Tehran entitled, "A wolrd without Zionism, and declared that "The occupation regime of Qods (Jerusalem or Israel) must be wiped off from the map of the world, and with the help of the Almighty, we shall soon experience a world without America and Zionism, notwithstanding those who doubt. But hay, you might be right, maybe Ahmadinejad will loose interest in building nuclear weapons and start collecting base ball cards. And maybe the prophecy found in Ez 38 -39 won't come true like all the other ones have. Or just maybe, and I'm putting emphasis on maybe, we are in the last days, and that is why our prophet has been telling us we need to prepare. I would think that if Gog and Magog does cut forth, man kind will have another 7 years upon the earth, with the last 3 1/2 being the worst that has ever befallen us. But again, that's just me. Oh, and the scriptures.
