He must be confused as heck too, considering he was an Athiest.

ETA: My son loooooooooves Thomas the Tank Engine, and almost all of our Thomas DVDs are from when he was the narrator. Love his voice.
(and I grew up watching Shining Time Station. Boy was it a shock to me when I grew up and saw what "Mr. Conductor" did on his off time. )

I loved him...I have one of his albums on vinyl. There I'm dating myself.

For once we completely agree. I was very sad when Thompson died, as like you, I believe he was a genuis.

My daughter loved him as well. She and I have watched Fear and Loathing a few times, and we both lose it when Johnny and Benicio are stumbling over themselves on the merry-go-round.

And now Carlin. An era has come to an end.

I bet the people in Paradise are wondering why they keep hearing people roaring with laughter in the Spirit Prison.

Perhaps we can include those seven words in our thoughts tonight...

Yeah, I really got a kick out of George Carlin back when. Most recently, I enjoyed him in the movie Dogma.

Even seemed quite liberal he was incredibly politically incorrect. He could discuss obesity in the US in terms that nobody else could -- or any number of subjects. I really liked how he attacked sacred cows like consumerism and the way little boys are treated by the educational system. Very smart guy.

You haven't watched Bill Maher lately.

Although it is amazing to me that little skinny guys who have never had a weight problem like to lecture us about obesity. But that's another story.

I loved him in the past. Lately, I didn't find him funny. Several years ago he had some special on HBO or something, which I really looked forward to, knowing it would be somewhat blue but still thinking I'd be laughing my behind off. I waited to laugh, i really did. It was like watching a 5 year old that had discovered swear words. All he did was swear, and considered that funny. I was very disappointed. I missed the days of the 'Hippy Dippy Weatherman', his bits about Catholic school, etc. I loved that George...

Apparently you missed the whole "seven words you can't say on tv" bit that made him famous in the first place. You know, the old george?

Anywho, great comedian. Someone mentioned Hunter S. Thompson and I have his book "Better Than Sex" and it's fantastic.
