Default A Mormon political/historic moment.

Are people aware of the fact that both party's candidates are considering their VP choices and there is a Mormon on both of their lists? While it could be a longshot there is a remote possibility that both VP candidates this year could be Mormons.

3 cheers for Ed Decker!

Quote:
“The new President would immediately begin to gather around him increasing numbers of zealous Temple Mormons in strategic places at the highest levels of government. A crisis similar to the one which Mormon prophecies "foretold" occurs, in which millions of Mormons with their year's supply of food, guns, and ammunition play a key role. Under cover of the national and international crisis, the Mormon President of the United States acts boldly and decisively to assume dictatorial powers. With the help of The Brethren and Mormons everywhere, he appears to save America and becomes a national hero. At this time he is made Prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day [sic] Saints and the Mormon Kingdom of God, while still President of the United States. There is no provision in the Constitution to prevent this. With the government largely in the hands of increasing numbers of Mormon appointees at all levels throughout the United States, the Constitutional prohibition against the establishment of a state church would no longer be enforceable.”
-- Ed Decker, The God Makers 241-42.

I suppose if you took *'s age into consideration, you could stretch it to four.

Im not sure why people are so keen to have Mormon's in politics. Politicians are notorious for bending the truth shall we say. Why would a Mormon be any different? We have a big business locally, all run by members-half the stake is employed by them. The owners use my hubby to decorate all their properties-you've never seen such tight fisted rip off merchants, they try to do him out of money, lie about what was said 'I never said 500, etc'. Plus their business dealings are very shady indeed flogging used goods as new and allsorts of other things. Hubby is considering not doing business with them anymore. So if thats the deal with business, politics I would also be inclined to stay well away from. I'd probably vote AGAINST the mormon!!!!
