i usually get my ground beef from the 1/2 cow we buy each year. this year we just ordered a whole cow to head off the price increases expected. we pay $2 a pound, plus the butcher cost. we have it cut into steaks. no roasts except the brisket. everything else is turned to hamburger. works out real well.
