Greyhound pulls ads
In another development, Greyhound has ended an ad campaign that touted bus travel as being a worry-free experience.
The ad said, "There's a reason you've never heard of 'bus rage.'"
A company spokesperson said the company feels the year-long campaign is no longer appropriate, given the tragedy outside Portage La Prairie.

That is quite possibly the most disturbing thing I have ever heard.

It gets worse. There were no disturbances, there was no fight, there was no indication of why he did it. He just stabbed a fellow passenger to death and ate him in full view of dozens of people. It's a pretty famous event in Canada.

K what sickens me is that the other passengers ran off the bus. If someone starts stabbing someone in front of me I am gonna do something to stop it. Even if I end up getting hurt in the process.

The killer and the victim were in the back of the bus, who's to say the guy wasn't already dead by the time people realized what was going on? There was NO warning (no confrontation between the killer and the victim to tip people off), and the victim was asleep prior to the attack, so he may not have made a sound, or at least not a loud one, depending on where he was stabbed first. It was very likely too late to save him by the time other people noticed. And at least the passengers didn't run away away. They locked the guy in the bus until the police arrived (which was 3 hours later!) and had to witness the killer carrying the victim's head up and down the bus.
The other passengers on that bus have my deepest sympathy for what they had to witness.

Officer Dooright had to rescue Nell from the speeding train first, but the Mounties eventually get their man.
I for one am glad Checkerboy did not have to perform any heroics which may have injured him.

Yeah it would suck to have been a passenger. I guess my impression from the story I read, though, was that as the attack happened people fled the scene. Maybe that is wrong, I don't know. But even if the guy was dead already I would still have done something.

If convicted they should put him to sleep immediately. I'm not necessarily a capital punishment kind of guy, but there are certain cases that go beyond what humans should have to tolerate.

Next thing you know, carrying condiments on the bus will be illegal.
