Today, crude hit a 33.88 a barrel and expect to drop even further before the fallout of 2009 depression.

The number will read higher on Monday since the quoted price is for January futures delivery and they expire today at close of market. Feb oil futures are trading around 42 a barrel.

Well, I honestly cannot think of a better way to stimulate the economy and get people spending again, if gas is too high, then people will cut down travel and therefore spending decreases. However, if gas is affordable, people will have more money for travel and be able to spend more.
Granted having a job helps too, of course there are those who do not work, who spend like crazy

I agree nothing is going to help the auto industry, until they completely re-think the way they are running their businesses. Throwing money at the problem is only going to delay the inevitable. Until they pull their heads out of their posteriors and recognize that they need to change nothing is going to help.

This is going to sound crazy, but the lower oil gets, the more worried I get. I am a firm believer in peak oil & I think these low prices will end up only hurting us more in the end. I hope I am wrong!

I lowered our gas down another 3 cents tonight. We are now at 1.34.
