GOP Leaders Confused, as Palin Tweets On
By JOHN HENDREN and KRISTINA WONG
WASHINGTON, July 5, 2009
Republican leaders say they're just as baffled as everyone else by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's sudden resignation, announced outside her home in Wasilla last Friday.
Karl Rove said today that GOP leaders were "a little perplexed" and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said it was "astounding."
Several prominent Republicans have also questioned whether the 2008 vice presidential candidate was setting up an unconventional presidential run. But they questioned how stepping down now would help her in three years.
"If this is geared for her run for the presidency in 2012, it is one of the most politically tone deaf decisions that we've seen," said Stuart Roy, a Republican consultant.
"I would think, if you want to run for president -- and I'm not sure that's got anything to do with what she's doing -- that the forum of a governorship would be a better forum than just being a private citizen," Grassley said today.
A former aide to Sen. John McCain called Palin's decision, "one more odd decision in a series of odd decisions" that play into a negative image of the soon-to-be former governor.
--------------
This may add more ammo to the scandals theory. The Republican Senator from Alaska says "Palin has let Alaska down".

Sarah Palin in my opinion just blew any chance she had at the Presidency. Many people I have talked to, Including some Alaskans feel, If she quit on them without finishing up her term, What makes many people think she will not quit on this country if ever elected?

Well, if she is going to Fox News she had better learn to construct a proper sentence.

I think like so many in the positions of opinion we are looking at this from a different perspective then Sara Palin.
Like she said.
So many other Governors have used this period of their governorship to use their position to do all sorts of things to
promote causes or even vacation.
They do this all on the public dime.
She feels the State will be in much better hands in the Lieutenant Governor's
She does not wish to do what ever she has planned at the states expence like so many other politicians would and do go about.
I pray she can pull this off.

What she lacks in sentence construction can be offset by maverickiness.*
*Was Spiro Agnew also a maverick?

I tend to think she is shell shocked and battle fatigued. She was relentlessly attacked during the Presidential race by the Obamaite media and the attacks
haven't stopped since. She has faced 15 ethics complaints and 13 have thus far been dismissed, but it has cost Alaska $300k to investigate and cost Palin
$500k in legal expenses. If she is as DUMB and unqualified as she has been portrayed by the media....why not leave her be. You'd think the left would be
happy to half this alleged half wit run against their darling Obama.

Unbelievable. An entire article about the Republican leadership, and not one mention of Limbaugh?

Leaving out the supreme leader of the party does seem to be a glaring omission.
