Default LDS church supports gay rights in SLC
Church supports Salt Lake City’s anti-discrimination ordinance | Universe.byu.edu

I think this olive branch to the gay community was a good PR move, but it really isn't a shift in LDS doctrine or policy. The church has always been anti-discrimination.
