Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather read things that inspire me, educate me, fill me with imagination and creativity etc..etc...
To me Karl Marx is like a virus. If your drawn to his way of thinking, well then your going to be pulled in. Then the next thing you know your having to defend Marx from all those who believe in Capitalism, free markets and enterprise, freedoms and liberty in general, Democracy and good old fashion American values that this country was founded on.
What were you reading?

You left out mom, apple pie, and baseball.

Oh, and Chevrolet. You can't be hyperbolic about good old-fashion[ed] American values, which weren't always all that great to many Americans, without mentioning a Chevy.

I don't agree with these notable quotes by marx;

Quote:
Landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed.
Karl Marx
I owned a duplex for around 11 years. I worked myself to death at times to manage, clean, upgrade and rent out my duplex.

These Quote's below by Marx is a classic example of how Marxist individuals have a superior attitude towards religous individuals.

Quote:
Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurrences it cannot understand.
Karl Marx
Quote:
Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
Karl Marx
I know a lot of good, kind and fun loving people OF ALL RELIGIONS/FAITH'S that are not oppressed creature's in the very least. Am I to read such a quote and come away with a warm fuzzy feeling all over?????

The NEGATIVITY is INTOXICATINGto my soul...

The man was exiled from his own country TWICE as can be read here in this quote taken from an interview with THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE;
Quote:
He was exiled from his native country -- Germany -- in 1844, for propagating revolutionary theories. In 1848, he returned, but in a few months was again exiled. He then took up his abode in Paris

here are some corrections made by karl marx in his interview with the Chicago Tribune.

Quote:
Fourth: Abolition of all special legislation regarding press laws and public meetings.
Their goes free speach, eh????

Check out the right of women here in this his ninth correction;
Quote:
Ninth: The legal day of labor for men to be defined. The work of women to be limited, and that of children to be abolished.

At the time of his words the Industrial Revolution was going gangbusters. There were very few labor laws, and none regulating the labor of children. A 16-18hr factory work day was not uncommon, and take-home work (piecework, like making clothes) was paid for similarly to picking cotton (i.e. if you meet quota it gets raised until you're behind and then paid accordingly). Karl Marx did not come up with his ideas in a vacuum. Unions did not spontaneously generate. There were societal forces at play that had never been seen in the world and Karl Marx came to his own conclusions about them. I see nothing wrong with what he said about women (or the men and children part). Fact is, a lot of companies treated their workers horribly because there was always going to be workers. It could be said that the feudal system was revived during the Industrial Revolution There is no doubt that the Industrial Revolution was needed, and our quality of life has been much improved because of it. But the birthing pains of the modern era were very harsh indeed.
