Default Translation of Joseph Smith web site into German

Hello

I'm actually not sure if this is ok to post here. If not please excuse me - I am looking for a member of the Church in Germany that might be willing to translate my web site from either Danish or English into the German language, as to reach more people here in Europe. JosephSmith.dk is for now in Danish and English. The translator should be capable at least at university level, and most importantly, have a good knowledge of the gospel, gained through some years of membership of the Church. In october month, until now, 7 Book of Mormons has been requested through JosephSmith.dk. It is missionary work and it does work. Besides that it is good for us as members to contribute with some objective information about the prophet and the Church so that they can be found in the search engines. Please let me know if anyone here could do this job. Please note that this is non-commercial. Thanks for your time and wishing all the best for our German brethren and sisters in the Gospel.

Hello,

I took a look at your page. I think it's good and I'm sure that some people will find interest in reading through it. I teach English and I also know gospel vocabulary enough to do some of the translation but I have so little time that I could not possibly do the whole text of it. But I can offer to translate at least a bit.

I would like to translate your page from English into German. For example:

The Prophets early life
Joseph Smith Junior was born on the 23rd December, 1805, in Sharon, Vermont, USA, as the fifth child of Joseph Smith Senior (1771-1848) and Lucy Mack (1775-1856). Joseph Smith Senior and Lucy Mack had eleven children. Only nine of them lived long enough to grow old. Six of the surviving children were boys and three of them were girls: Alvin, Hyrum, Sophronia, Joseph, Samuel Harrison, William, Katharine, Don Carlos, and Lucy.
When Joseph was about ten years old poverty forced the Smith family to move, first to New Hampshire in 1811, and later to Palmyra, New York in 1816. Joseph Smith Senior and Lucy Mack were humble and quiet people, who earned their living through hard farming work. Lucy Mack once said that Joseph Smith Junior, was an ordinary boy, who worked hard, and often had deep thoughts about the welfare of his immortal soul, but that he was, however, not inclined to much reading. He was especially interested in finding out which of the different churches in the Palmyra area that was the right church. (Joseph Smith's early life, family and religion)

Translation:

If do you think that my translation was correct, it would be a great honor to me to translate for you.

Well, I'm not a member of your church, but I'm very interested in it. One of my favorite interests is the American History, and in it the Hisory of the American Indians (Native Americans). I guess I would do it step by step, and send you after I have had finished my translation, each translated page to you. What do you think about it? And, please would you send me your email address?

Hello,

Thank you very much for your interest in this job, but as a non-member are you aware that this is not a paid translation job? The english part of the website were, for instance translated into english and proofreaded because we believe that these things are true. As it is said some where in the Bible - "You received it for nothing, give it for nothing." I just wanted to make sure that you are aware of this. I'm impressed with the speed of your translation.

Best regards
John Norgaard
