When the cyclone hit the banana plantations the price of bananas skyrocketed...it was a very sad time. Bananas were so expensive they became a status symbol LOL. Even banana essense became expensive. Happily they grow quickly and things have improved. I picked up a bunch today for $2.95AU a kilogram : ) I'm a huge banana cake fan. I'll have to get into the habit of one a day.
