Under the "let's cut Bethie some slack" column...I do believe she has stated here or elsewhere that she's been under going treatment at the Huntsman Center in SLC.
While she and I have "locked horns" on this issue, my prayers are with her for a swift and speedy recovery....

Mainstream LDS girls are also taught to want a family, yet is it not a good thing that most have not been pregnant or had babies between the ages of 13-17 by men old enough to be grandfathers?

So Mormon Senator Harry Reid thinks the Utah Attorney General should have been more agressive in going after these abuses of children by polygamists, eh?
Is he being disloyal to our polygamist heritage by being such an idealist?

Question, has anyone examined the average age of married men in the FLDS religion and their wives? If you follow the intended subliminal message you'd think that all males have to wait until they are 50 to get married to teenagers.
And another quick question:
Which structure is a religious community not really involving itself in the general society and which structure was an illegal compound filled with lawbreakers seeking to use armed force against the rightful government authority at the time?

I don't know, maybe if they had been wanting to set up a gambling casino Mr. Reid would have been more sympathetic to them.

But I thought LDS were nothing like the FLDS? So then wouldn't this be like comparing apples to oranges?
LDS have moved into the new period where polygamy is not practiced and people do not marry when they are young. LDS do not culturally live as people lived in periods past. These things are not accepted in the mainstream LDS culture. Therefore it would be understood that the majority of LDS girls would not participate in such activities.
The FLDS culture, however, carries the heritage of their past with them. They have oriented their lives to a time period when this was accepted. So it would be accepted that youth would want to carry forth the traditions.
Accepted - not accepted
apples- oranges

Brethren,
It is unfortunate that any of these deluded YFZ people followed the false prophet Jeffs out into Texas. However, the Texan authorities are moving against them because of an underlying anti-Mormonism...Let us pray for the disbanding of the Jeff's Faction of FLDS and a return of the Brethren involved to their former righteous lifestyle....

Actually only two were pregnant and one of those gave birth 2 days ago. Now authorities say that 31 of the girls have been or are currently pregnant (again 2 now 1) but just 2 days before announcing that they declared 25 young ladies who have stated they are adults as minors. I just wonder... How many of those 25 are in that group of 31? I'll bet you money that all of them are.
The new story by authorities is that 41 of the children have signs of past bone fractures. That's 41 out of 463, that's less then 10%!!! Studies show 50% of children have a fracture before reaching adulthood... the FLDS are FAR under average!!! And that's amazing considering the fact that FLDS children run and play outside and don't veg out in front of the TV all day.
Texas is counting on you not doing your research.
