First, my profile clearly states that I am married, so any messages like this are automatically from someone who has no moral center.

Second, the profile of the sender states they are 13 years old, so a message FROM A MINOR is a very uncomfortable situation indeed.

Third, being from Africa (and that I've stated in my posts that I'm in financial services) I can only think that I was chosen for this message for help/involvement in section 419 Nigerian money-laundering scams.

It is my recommendation to ban Jenny55 from the forum.

It is also my recommendation that the post be reported to the appropriate law enforcement for investigation into possible 419 connections.

However, it IS good to be back on the forum! I've been meaning to get back here for some time.

I am only replying to your post because I find something you said a tab bit offensive...
I thought for a while if I should even bother to say anything... But to be honest I am tired of just keeping quite about it...
So here goes...

Firstly I would like to guide you to another thread that was started about this same thing Someone on the board really loves me!!

Secondly... Your third point is what I find offensive...

As per my profile I am from South Africa or Africa... either way...
I am as South African as they come...
I feel that it is unfair to generalise that because a person is from Africa that they would be involved is something like this... Fair enough, in this case they are...
But just "being from Africa" does not mean that...

I could do the same & generalise about Americans or Australians or New Zealanders... That would be wrong & offensive to some...

Same thing here..

SusieSA,

I AGREE with you on ALL counts!

However, before the poster was banned, the poster had NO posts, and just joined the forum the same day as sending the message.

These circumstances are why I believe that it is a "less than reputable" person trying to contact me.

I have NOTHING against anyone being from Africa! Everyone is welcome here! But when I get a personal message like that from someone in Africa who just joined the forum the same day and doesn't know me from ANYBODY... that's when the red flags appear and the lights & sirens sound.

Thanks for your post!

I have been getting personal emails from all over the world, but mostly Africa, Nigera, Islam, etc., etc.

I don't take offence. I bounce them.

My email program has a beautiful feature - it is called Bouncing. It sends the email back and says that my email address is a non-address.

I never get any of these spam PM's here at the forum because I have set up my profile to accept ONLY PM's from Friends.

Sure makes life easier.

I received the same thing from the same person stating the exact same thing. So, yeah... I just delete them and leave it at that. I find that ignoring them... they tend to go away.
