Recently Kerry said about Bush's enviromental record:
"You ought to be furious. You ought to be outraged," Kerry shouted as the audience shouted back 'we are.' "Four years have gone by and they've been ignoring the science."
or this about a nuclear repository at Yucca Mountain:
"George Bush went out there and stood in the state and said I promise this, and he's done the exact opposite,"
or this about foreign affairs:
"Every president of the last century did a better job than this president" in building relationships with other nation..."
or you name it. Google "John Kerry criticizes Bush" and you get 79,000 hits. Kerry has even criticized Bush because because his VP running mate wasn't as "sexy" as Kerry's VP mate. (remember the photos I ran of Kerry making out with Edwards?)
Well regardless of how self righteous, holier-than-thou, egotistical, accusatory, pedantic and supercillious Kerry gets, he can't hold a candle to the good old days. Take the campaign of 1824 for example:
Candidate Adams was a slovenly monarchist who had an English wife.
Candidate Clay was a drunkard and a gambler.
Candidate Jackson was a murderer. (actually Jackson wasn't a murderer as it was legal to kill indians and hang his own soldiers back then but that didn't keep him from getting elected to President 4 years later and founding what they called themselves - the Democrats)
Yes those were the days. In the 1828 election John Quincy Adams, the incumbent was accused of installing gambling furniture in the White House (he had purchased a chess set and billard table), and pimping out a young American girl to the Russian Tsar Alexander. The Adamsite newspaper claimed the Jackson's mother was a prositute brought to America by British soldiers and that she had married a mulatto, and that Jackson was a bigamists (which he was technically for a while).
