To the LDS Church? Or to different churches? Because one of the penalties associated with Excommunication from LDS is that you cannot p ay tithing, and thus not reap the blessings for doing so.

Excommunication. Big word. Yet it means nothing to me. If I became a member and became excommunicated I would still go to service if I wished. The Church would not run my life.

Being excommunicated does not ban your from attending Church services.

You lose your Church membership and the blessings that go with it until such time that the repentence process has been completed. Once that is done you can then look at being rebaptized to regain your Church membership.

Heavenly Father wants us to go through that repentence process. Why would HE ban us from services when that is something that would help with that process? That doesn't make sense to me.

Losing Church membership wouldn't be a big deal to me.

I'll never be a member anyhow so I'll never have to worry about it.

I'm actually thinking about going back to the Church I was raised in. At least they understand our marriage problem.

Careful with your wording there. That could be taken as a derogatory remark against the LDS Church. It's not that the LDS Church is not sympathetic or understand your "marriage" problem. It's living the Law of Chastity that being a member is required. There is a difference there.

I didn't mean to sound anti-Mormon. I'm not.

The Bishop will not let me be a member. He is convinced that we do not follow the law of chastity. I would have to find my own place and leave her behind. We can't pay bills without using both our incomes.

I am convinced that living the law of chastity, paying a full tithe, becoming a member of the Church would increase your blessings ten-fold. I think you would find that the problem of money would be greatly decreased by the blessings. Just my opinion of course.
