Some call it a "buggy" down here in the south.

How about this for rude...
Things are tight financially for my family right now. So, when I can finally get enough money together to go shopping, I end up getting a FULL cart of stuff.
I only go shopping about once or twice a month, and I have a family of four. Whatever I get has to last.
Why do people look at me funny? Why do people give me dirty looks? Why do people make fun of me?
Is there some silent rule or law that a person cannot buy a full cart of groceries?
One time I actually had somebody (another customer) at Wal-Mart tell me that it was time for me to go home.
Shopping with two kids in a crowded store and worrying about whether I will have enough money to pay for it all is bad enough, but having people make me feel bad for getting enough to last me a couple of weeks or a whole month is just plain wrong.

most common where I'm from (the south):
checkout operator = cashier
price query = price check
till = cash register (nowadays just "register")
trolley = cart

First of all, is it me or has customer service gone drastically down across the board over the last 15 years or so?
I remember when "customer first" really was more than just hot air. I mean, in the past, whenever I had problems or complaints, or even just a simple question, people used to jump through hoops to help me out.

If you were shopping in Wal-Mart Supercenter country you wouldn't get those looks. (that would be northwestern Arkansas).
I never understood people who DIDN'T shop by the cart load, and sometimes we had two, one for me, one for my wife. I just don't see wasting time and gas doing little bits of shopping every few days or week or so, not to mention how you save when you buy in bulk. I mean, if you KNOW the kids are going to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all the time, why not buy they jumbo tubs?
