Thumbs down Don't like new home page format

Haven't been on this site in a couple of weeks. I think the new picture is waaaayyyy cheesy on the homepage. I get what it represents, but if I'm investigating the church or a new church member to this site I am going to think this is how mormons dress. I think this picture will just serve to fuel inaccurate sterotypes. How about a nice picture of a temple instead ... or just something that would be representative of our faith that those outside the faith would understand. If I had no experience with the church the picture would represent to me a new age cult. I'm afraid I would have to pass before investigating further.

Sorry if I seem over critical. I appreciate the efforts and time of those who keep this going. Just wanted to call this to your attention and would be interested in hearing opinions of others.

Is it unclear that those are angels?

I love the Angels and the color; I do not see "cheesy" at all.

It looks like angels to me.... and since most Christians believe in angels, I don't see anything confusing about it.

It also looks Christmasy and this is a good time of year for that!

millionaire13, I have enjoyed all your many posts and participation in the site to date. I do find it odd that you have such a dislike for the new site design. Looks to me like angels heralding the arrival of the Christ child with the new star on the horizon. When I first saw it I thought "Hark the Herald Angels sing, Glory to the newborn King".

Must just be me.

Personally, I'm really starting to get excited about being able to fly like an angel...

Try checking out the link provided at the bottom of the homepage to the artist's collection of photography. I really enjoyed it and it gave me a better appreciation for what was behind the photo.

Those are just angels, as we Christians also believe in them. In fact, an angel in a white gown goes on top of my tree every Christmas.

It's a pretty universally recognized symbol of Christianity, in fact. I doubt anyone coming here would think that this is how Mormons dress.
