I think Romney would be careful to keep his personal religion and state affairs separate. I think he has shown he can work with liberals. In business, as Mass governor, and the Olympics, he has shown he can turn organizations around and make a profit.

Why did he support a health care program in Mass? Because the people wanted it, and the states are exactly the place to experiment on such things to see how they will work before implemented on a national level (if at all).

Romney would find ways to bring our economy back around, without having to spend hundreds of billions on a non-stimulating stimulus package, buying car companies, or socializing our nation.

Romney lost the Republican nomination because Huckabee and McCain colluded together to get rid of him. It was very obvious in the West Virginia caucuses, where Romney was way ahead, until McCain told his third place voters to all go over to the Huckabee camp. Suddenly, Romney was in 2nd place. He realized he could defeat them separately, but not if the two of them were going to gang up on him together.

Sadly, we now have to wait to 2012 to try and get a strong businessman in, who can turn the country around. By then, I expect things to be much worse, and it will be very painful for everyone to right the ship. And among all the current potential Republican and Democratic contenders, only Romney has ever shown the ability to do it.
