Mabey I have read more into what is being said and if you read my posts you would see I too would change to homeschool if I had to move to a bigger school. I am very lucky that I have that choice. My kids are florashing and if for some reason I changed my mind they could take music and sports at the school with no problem...... Not all public schools are bad

Vort--- your mincing words
Both my children are on the honor role and to suggest that homeschoolers are ahead of those who choose public school isn't always true

Homeschoolers should be, and usually are, well ahead of where their public-school compatriots are academically.

We are sayng similar things defending what we believe. I do not belive public schools are perfect but right now for me mine is. Homeschooling worked well for my kids when I used it..... They now get a rich full education in one of the best schools in our state whose teachers and staff are exceptional in their efforts and is proved daily in our retention rate and benckmark scores.

I think if I say things to support my position at this time it offends you all but I recognise that homeschooling is good and has advantages and admit I use to home school. I am happy you all are doing well with your homeschooling. Not all can do that . I loved it when I did but my kids have different needs now and for them it is best in our wonderful public school.

Elagma I am glad it is working for you and I think all our children are lucky to have such devoted parents who care so much and are so involved in their education..... that being said I stand by my last statement

Neither homeschooling or public school are superior to each other they are just different choices hopefully made with intense thought and prayer. I believe my children have had a superior education will continue to succeed in the public school just as much as those who are home schooled.

It is all about choice and my children thrive under the disipline of school they are free thinkers and are able to expand their learning as much as they wish. With the internet we have almost anything available to learn and with my help and support our school works hard to see each child reach their individual potential.

So mabey I should not have even posted on this thread but felt as defensive from some of all your remarks as you all seem to be by mine.

I'm closing this thread. The purpose of the OP was to ask what the pros and cons were of homeschooling. It's turned into a debate about who's right and who's wrong. That is not what the OP intended.
